It's a dark and dreary morning, so I decided to take E1's pic after school.  Here's a pic of the kids by the big maze at our favorite orchard.  Fingers crossed we can go this Saturday!

Gratitude

What I am especially grateful for this week:

1. E1 had a great meet last weekend!
2. We all (well, B fell asleep for the last 15 minutes) had fun at Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and E2 behaved really well! (Except for having to go potty 5 or 6 times....)
3. Z is playing some really good soccer!
4. Nobody else got whatever E2 and I had and we both feel better!
5. Cool weather!
6. B & the kids had fun bowling yesterday!
7. B & Z are having (slightly damp) fun at a Crew game tonight!
8. E1 had another great week at school!
9. B is a super sweet hubby with the patience of Job!

Bubby, right before he got his brackets/expander off.  9/8/09.  (He didn't want me to take the after photo until the numbness wore off and I kept forgetting.)  I think two baby teeth came out that day too.

 

Bubby, today, without his brackets & expander (Does not show off his haircut however).  It took him a few days to get used to eating again!  Ack! I just remembered his retainer is in and I need to make an appointment!  

I am hoping that the Phase I treatment does the trick and he doesn't need Phase 2.  3 kids x 2 phases = $30,000 + me sick to my stomach.....

E1 after school.  On Thursdays she stays for 30 minutes with her math teacher (our district eliminated language arts EPP and instead of going to math *and* math epp, students now go to math with their EPP teacher) to get her up to speed with the 5th grade.  Today Mrs C said that she is caught up but is willing to continue the lessons so I was all over that.  So nice of her to give up her time.  If I were a teacher, my tires would be squealing out of the parking lot 30 seconds after the last bus left.

Today was picture-day:  E1 is wearing a blue shirt, blue jean shorts and there is blue in her socks and tennis shoes.  She was very happy that I picked the blue background for her photo.  Girlie loves her blue!

Competitive Gymnastics: Season 3 Level Five: Season One Meet: One

Vault: 8.800 (3rd)
Bars:  9.100 (3rd)
Beam: 8.400 (6th)
Floor: 9.250 (1st)

AA: 35.550 (4th)

We knew there would be no other gyms competing so this was basically an in-house meet. (And a good opportunity to get all the jittery nervousness out of the way.)

E1 was disappointed with her vault score.  I thought her beam score was pretty accurate, although I was a bit confused that a girl who fell off had a score that was only slightly lower. Whatever.  Other parents gave E1 many compliments on her beam, floor and bars routines so that was really nice. 

Supposedly our head coach tells the judges to score harshly so that the girls will work hard for the rest of the season.  That may be an urban legend to make the parents feel better!

Regardless, she is very happy, B and I are very proud of her and E2 sat at a table and behaved the whole time so that was super-dee-duper awesome!

Gratitude

What I am especially grateful for this week (and last, if I can remember!):

1. Beautiful, gorgeous, sunny, slightly cooler, hint of fall weather!
2. E1 is doing such a wonderful job with school. Always on top of things, gets as much as she can get done in study hall, doing extra credit, no lost homework and all with a smile. So proud of her.
3. Z's team won their game this week (and last week tied a team that beat them in the tournament).
4. Gymbo's Fall for Monkeys line!
5. I did *not* go to see District 9 (B did last night and man does it sound boring!).
6. Yesterday was so peaceful - Z read half the day and E2 stayed a few extra hours at preschool. Aaaaah.

Yummy!

I like to tell E2 that I'm eating her sweet cheeks or that I could eat her up with a spoon.  Today while rocking her for a few minutes, I apparently told her she was very sweet.  Her response? "Don't you dare¹ eat me up with a spoon!  *pause* Even though I am very delicious!"

¹ heard almost as often as "how do YOU know?"

How did I not notice this until almost 4:00?????

Around 11:00ish today, numerous attempts were made to keep E2 in the 'naughty chair'.  After resetting the timer umpteen times, she was told she would have to lie down for a nap.   I listened to screams of "I CAN'T SLEEP" for as long as I could, but finally it was tubby time.  While she was supposed to be in bed what she was actually doing was CUTTING HER HAIR. AGAIN.  "I didn't want my hair in my eyes!" "That's what hairclips are for!"  GAH.

Last night at gymnastics, a little girl in a rec class got in E1's way twice, once while E1 was landing her vault.  So now her ankle hurts. Grrrrr.

What I am especially grateful for this week:

1. We had a safe trip to and from Cleveland, Saturday's games went very well, we had nice weather, the kids had fun at Dave & Buster's and the pool and hanging out together at the hotel, the other parents are very nice, I really like our new coach and everyone thinks E2 is adorable.
2. My big lens was giving me fits this weekend and I have a lot of photos to delete but I think it's okay now and hopefully I got a couple decent pics.
3. E1 had a great week and is settling into fifth grade nicely.
4. E2 had a great week at preschool and I think she is going to have a wonderful year with Miss A. We were doing opposites the other day and she said: "We did these with Miss A!" She is also becoming a little more interested in learning and practicing things like writing or cutting with scissors.
5. I got a new phone (I dropped mine a month or so ago and the screen broke) and sort of have it figured out.
6. My sweet B. Love him forever!

We lost track of time this morning, so no a.m. picture (and she was almost late!).  This is E1 after school, finishing up a Nancy Drew book (The Secret of the Old Clock). 

I have a big box of all my Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books somewhere ~ I'll have to look again later and see if they turn up.
