Em's annual check-up

Em is 57 1/4 inches and 72 pounds (nurse forgot to give me the sheet but it looks like 37th percentile for height and 15th percentile for weight)  - she has grown an inch and a half since she stopped gymnastics!   She too is very healthy and apparently got her dad's eyes because her vision is fine!

Poor sweetie got her Tdap and Gardasil vaccines and the flu-mist so she is resting on the couch!

Z's annual check-up

Z had his annual check-up/sports physical this morning.  Like every year, very healthy!  He's officially 5' 8.5" (over 95th percentile) and 115 lbs (80th percentile).   Got his Hepatitis A shot.  

Dr. had a chat with him about having a plan for high school and how he expects to be filling out college medical forms for Z in four years, and not White Castle forms.   

The only item Dr. was concerned about was Z's eyesight - seems to have worsened.   So Z now gets to go to the Optometrist on Saturday!

So Proud!

All three kids ran a "fun" run (not sure how fun it was - at 8:30 it was already warm and muggy) this morning, and then the two big kids ran a 5k!

Cuteness #2

Last week on the way to and from soccer camp each day, E2  would exclaim "It's Gnomeo and Juliet's house!".    Unfortunately I missed it each time because she said it after we had already passed it.  On the way home from the last day of camp, after she said it I turned around, slowed down and had to smile.  There indeed was a house with quite a few gnomes, birdbaths and lawn ornaments on it's front porch/lawn.  

Last night when we were in the car, she started chattering about the house again.  She didn't know the movie was real, she thought those were just characters!  Can you believe there really IS a Gnomeo and Juliet??? 

Love, love, love the innocence and imagination of little kids!!

Cuteness #1

I had to take Em to Sweet & Sassy today because last night, I had to cut a comb out of her hair. ("Moooo-oooom, why didn't you just tell her I got gum stuck in it? She kept asking me how on earth I got a comb stuck in my hair!"  Funny, I was wondering that as well....)  She got a trim and a beautiful 'do!

 
 

 

After her orthodontist appt yesterday, I realized how much her teeth have already changed in just 6 weeks.  I don't think the top picture really illustrates the change (and ignore the fact that her teeth are blue from Sweet & Sassy pucker powder....) but she no longer has "fangs"!

A wonderful 13th birthday for Z - thank you so much for your generosity!

B did Z's room - painted, laminate flooring, new furniture - looks amazing!

E2 learned a lot at her soccer camps and had a ton of fun! She has turned into quite the little striker!

Keurig + Millstone Hazelnut Kcups + International Delight Hazelnut Creamer = heaven (and Nutella is wonderful too - why do actual hazelnuts taste so awful???)

The big kids totally jammed on their OAA's - top tier (advanced) in all areas tested!

Z is really enjoying the HS soccer experience and it seems like a great group of guys!

Our lives no longer revolve around gymnastics - bliss!

School starts in a month! (♥ the kids but man is the fighting, bickering, whining and crying stomping on my last nerve!)

Transformers (special effects were outstanding) and Harry Potter (tear tear cry cry) movies!

Ranger's Apprentice Series!  Em is reading them and enjoying them, Z is re-reading them and E2 is "reading' them.

E2 had a great day today and her coach even joked that he wanted her on his U9 squad.   I just

Most of the today's camp E2 had a grand time - goals scored, friendships formed, good times.  Until......the two 8 minute games at the end.   Maybe the other kids felt better in the cooler weather, maybe she was grouped with more competitive players, maybe they all just got tired of watching her run off with the ball  - whatever the reason, there were fewer goals scored,  less ball hogging and you could see E2's frustration rising.  She stomped off the fields grumbling about everything and accusing the other teams of gloating.   I think we'll have a little talk about sportsmanship on the way to camp tomorrow.

The next Abby Wambach

 

 

E2 has soccer camp this week - two hours each morning in the hot hot sun!  She had a blast today and scored lots of goals! Today she learned how to do pull backs and step overs.
