A lot of photos were taken this weekend but very few were keepers, AND there were *glares at B* none taken of the kids with Ghiggy.

We're off to get the Z man! I can't wait to see my little guy!

After his presentation I get a relaxing weekend at a hotel. Not quite as good as a weekend at  home alone, but I wouldn't have missed today's events for anything!

NYSP: Tuesday Summary

Leadership Strand: Survey of Intelligence Categories (logical, intrapersonal, musical, etc)

Medicine Strand: Dissected a cow's heart!!

Entertainment: Some of the campers put on a talent show

Break Time: Twister

NYSP: Monday Summary

Leadership Strand: problem solving technique discussion.  Z was in a group of girls and apparently couldn't get a word in!

Medicine Strand:  played another game where they had to guess the name of the disease taped to their back* and studied the stomach.

Entertainment: Leadership Pep Rally

Break Time: watched James & The Giant Peach. k

Sounds like he is enjoying the food and his roommates!

*the name was taped to the back, not the disease, just to be clear! :P

NYSP: Sunday Summary

For the leadership strand: they formed teams, came up with a team name and colors, created five rules, developed a team goal and created a team handshake.

For the medicine strand:  they played a game where they had to guess the name of the body organ taped to their back, they investigated what saliva does to starch, and they looked at cheek scrapings under a microscope.

Entertainment: Magician

Break Time: Blackjack (NOT for $)

All his roommates are in the medicine strand too.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Z just called!  He had a GREAT first day.   He has made friends with his three roommates and two other kids, the food is really good, they made a craft, a ventriloquist came and did a show for them, and he is a happy camper!  I am thrilled and relieved and proud and happy!

Then E1 called.  She has been with her friend C since 3:00 and isn't coming home until 10:30.  C is going to spend the night and I'll probably be taking the girls to the pool tomorrow. 

I got a TON of stuff done today - laundry/tidying/cleaning wise. 

Once E2 falls asleep and B gets home safe and sound, everything will be perfect.

Gratitude

What I am especially grateful for this week:

1. Z's teacher nominated him for the Young Scholars Program.  We haven't discussed it with Z and have not decided to send him but it certainly was nice for her to nominate him.
2. Snow! And two-hour delays!
3. Having a little one so enchanted by snow and Christmas!
4. OSU is #1 baby and going to the National Championship!
5. E1's meet went well; she had her best floor score and best overall score so far.  And her grandparents drove seven hours to watch her for five minutes! (She thought that was super cool!)
6. Yummy meals at Red Robin and Olive Garden last weekend.
7. The 25 Days of Christmas - the kids seem to be enjoying it and it's making me feel more of the Christmas Spirit.
8. Hanna sales!
9. Digital photography and scrapping.
10. Running a credit balance with the electric company and having a warm, dry house.
